Unfortunately, care workers in MD make an average of approximately $14.08/hr or $23,100/year. Short staffing in nursing homes and the lack of adequate oversight is leading to poor quality of care for residents who are aging and with disability. Low wages and poor working conditions have led to high turnover and a shortage of workers, impacting the quality of care for seniors and disabled individuals.
